"iz .art" : Art Objects
Iz Maglow has created art objects that directly use everyday items such as shoes, paper handkerchiefs, toys, etc., as well as subjects that use everyday objects on a symbolic level and in a broader context.
Ladders
Iz Maglow calls this series "Standing Objects", which is inspired by "ladders". He combines monochrome structured paintings on canvas with artificial ladders or objects reminiscent of a ladder.

            BÉZIERS IN JUNE 1209
acrylic on canvas and wood, fur imitation, textile,
            1988, 270 x 140 x 25 cm
            06288015
Like golden skeletons leaning against the wall, ladders and monochrome surfaces recall places and events. Titles such as "BÉZIERS IN JUNE 1209" or "CARCASSONE" provide assistance with viewing and interpretation. Iz Maglow uses the ladder as a symbol that visually transforms values such as "power", "possession", or "path to success".

              CARCASSONNE
acrylic on wood, fur imitation, textile, stone,
              1989, 340 x 105 x 23 cm

Candlelight
This presentation captures "glowing memories" of transitory installations that Iz Maglow realized in 1982 and 1983 at the State Academy of Fine Arts Stuttgart.

            ROOM CIRCLE
acrylic on 10 canvas, aluminium, 20 candles,
            1983, 265 x 230 x 250 cm

It seems as if the images wandered on a circle through wall and floor, with changing dark, cold colors on their north sides and bright, warm tones on their south sides.

ON THE ONE HAND – ON THE OTHER HAND
              (Homage à Marc Rothko)
              acrylic on canvas, 40 candles,
              1982, 20 x 200 x 500 cm
              75882206
              Detail
The light of the candles dominates these quiet "painting" studies with soft color changes by the luminosity of the candlelight, which is lost from the bright center of light to the darker outdoor area.

              documentation of the installation

documentation of the installation & last relict
A long canvas stretched across the room is illuminated on both sides by 20 candles. At the beginning, the candles on the west side already have half the height of the candles on the east side. With every renewal, this 2: 1 – 1: 2 – 2: 1 ratio changes and so does the entire lighting situation.

BECAUSE, – THERE WAS NO AIR NEXT TO THE HOUSE, –
IT WAS ABOVE THE ROOF NEARLY FOUR METER HIGH
              (Homage à Peter Härtling)
              Acryl auf Leinwand, 4 Kerzen,
              1982, 25 x 417 x 38 cm

Shoes – Relics of long Journeys
To keep memories of "old companions" alive, Iz Maglow created this collection of artistic shoe objects in the early 1980s.

            SMOOTH
            shoe and sock,
            1980, 16 x 29 x 11 cm
            06180073
... He's a real nowhere man,
            sitting in his nowhere land,
making all his nowhere plans for nobody ...
Instead of descriptions or short comments, Iz Maglow illustrated all of his shoe relics with short memories that accompanied these relics, a fragmentary quote from "The Beatles" songs.
I hope this will please all Beatles fans as well as the creators themselves. For no moment there was an intention to hurt anyone by combining these different arts.
